Windies Under 19 Lose Opener

The West Indies Under-19's suffered a six-wicket defeat at the hands of Australia in the opening match of the ICC Youth World Cup in Guyana today. Winning the toss and electing to bat first, the young West Indies were in a spot of bother early as they lost their first three wickets with only 12 runs on the board. The pair of Rivaldo Clarke and Captain Ackeem Auguste then put on a 95-run partnership to guide them to a 107, with Clarke's 37 and Auguste's 57 the top scores in the innings. The West Indies were bowled out for 169 in 40.1 overs with Cooper Connolly's three for 17 the best for the Australian bowlers. Australia in their chase lost an early wicket with just five runs on the board. Teague Wyllie's 86 not out set the tone for the Aussie's victory as they lost just four wickets on their way to registering an opening match victory in 44.5 overs - 170 for four their final score.
