Policemen Among Four People Shot

Two police officers and two women are at the hospital being treated for gunshot wounds after a gunman opened fire at a bar at Cunupia early Sunday morning. According to police reports, the officer had responded to a report of a large gathering at Big Timerz Bar along the Southern Main Road in Cunupia when minutes later a man fired at the officers and patrons. The shooter ran off and escaped. The incident occurred at around 4:40 a.m. Police Constable Khan was shot in his leg, and Police Constable Duprey was shot in his shoulder and abdomen. 21-year-old Kristina James, of Arouca and 26-year-old Leticia Howard, also sustained gunshot injuries. Officers of the Central Division Task Force and Cunupia CID responded, and searches were carried out for the shooter.
