Concerns About Leak Of Information

Minister of Youth Development and National Service, Foster Cummings, has initiated High Court proceedings against UNC Senator Jayanti Lutchmedial. At a Media Conference on Friday, the Member of Parliament for La Horquetta/Talparo said the High Court is the court of evidence, and he cannot go simply by what the Senator has put in the public domain. A letter has also been dispatched to the Commissioner of Police to ascertain how an alleged copy of a Special Branch report ended up in Senator Lutchmedial's mailbox. Minister Cummings is also questioning how Senator Lutchmedial, who used to work at the Financial Intelligence Unit, has access to people’s personal and financial information. Earlier this week, Senator Lutchmedial leaked a Source of Funds declaration form, showing a million dollar payment to a credit union by a relative of Mr. Cummings. Minister Cummings said allegations that a State Company paid monies directly into his account for some personal benefit is also absolutely untrue, and the transaction was a business loan repayment.
