ANR Robinson International Airport Expansion Project To Continue

The High Court has dismissed the applications for an injunction made by occupiers of lands needed for the construction of the new airport terminal at the ANR Robinson International Airport in Tobago. Minister of Finance, Colm Imbert, shared the news on his Twitter page on Friday evening. He said this clears the way for the State to continue with this important infrastructure project. Last month, families in Zone D of the project on Crompton Trace, off Silk Cotton Trace, were issued Eviction Notices to make way for the $1.2 billion project. The residents and their Attorneys received an emergency hearing and took the matter to court Chief Secretary of the Tobago House of Assembly, Farley Augustine, at Thursday's Post Executive Council Media Briefing, said the residents of Crompton Trace were given until September 15th to vacate their properties but were asking for an additional six months.
