Alicia Herbert is Director of the Education, Gender and Equality Directorate at the Foreign, Commonwealth and Development Office. She has over 20 years of experience in international development. Prior to joining the Department for International Development (DFID), now the FCDO, in 1999, she worked with a range of organisations including the World Bank and the Policy Studies Institute. She was recently awarded the Order of the British Empire and joins us on now to talk a bit about her work.
