Making Tech Voc A Viable Choice

The National Training Agency (NTA) has been engaging with a host of industry representatives to share the occupational standards to Technical/Vocational(Tech/Voc) students hoping to start a career in the field – as way to keep the students interested in the sector and make it attractive. During a Joint Select Committee for Social Services and Public Administration on Wednesday, Chief Executive Officer at the NTA of the Ministry of Education, Dr. Patrice Parris Searles, explained how the engagement works. When it comes to the promotion of careers that can be pursued after studying Tech/Voc subjects, Ms. Parris Searles admitted that more needs to be done in this area. The JSC conducted an examination of the state of technical or vocational programmes and their contribution to achieving the developmental goals of Trinidad and Tobago.
