Riverine Flood Alert In Effect

A Riverine Yellow Level Alert has been issued for Trinidad and Tobago by the Trinidad and Tobago Metrological Service (TTMS). The Alert is in effect from 3:30pm on Friday November 18th to 3:30pm Saturday November 19th. Following heavy rainfall, river levels along the Caroni River continued to rise and are near 90 percent. Weather conditions are expected to settle during the late afternoon to evening period. However, occasional periods of heavy showers are still likely thereafter. This additional rainfall can keep the river levels elevated so there remains a moderate risk to public safety, livelihood, and property. The Met Office cautioned persons to exercise safety during this time.
