My Teacher Is A Superhero Competition

A super teacher is one who sees the potential in every child. This is according to Director of School Supervision, Aaron Ramrattan, during the Ministry of Education's Prize Giving Ceremony for the "My Teacher is a Superhero" competition on Wednesday. Mr. Ramrattan said a super teacher does everything within his or her power to motivate students to reach their highest potential. Students were awarded in the 5-12 Primary School, Video Submission, and 5-12 Primary School Poem Submission categories. There was also a 13-18 Secondary School, Video Submission category, and 13-18 Secondary School Special Needs Video Submission category. Teachers were also recognised for their hard work and dedication in the various categories. Chief Education Officer Dr. Peter Smith said the Ministry placed great emphasis on nurturing a child's creative mind in the realm of Visual and Performing Arts (VAPA). As such, the Ministry has increased a number of initiatives in the VAPA sector.
