MOH: A&E Departments Open 24/7

Members of the public are urged to celebrate responsibly during the festive season. The Ministry of Health advised that Accident and Emergency (A&E) Departments at the General Hospitals and District Health Facilities can be accessed for 24-hour care during the Christmas and Boxing Day long weekend. However, all Health Centres will be closed on both public holidays. For persons with pre-existing chronic diseases such as hypertension and diabetes, the Ministry advises a reduction in the intake of salt and sugary drinks, make healthier choices by incorporating fruits and vegetables in meals, if consuming alcohol, do so in moderation, practice proper hygiene and food safety in the kitchen. And, if immuno-compromised, wear a mask at large gatherings to avoid contracting COVID-19 or influenza.
